Railway line Plovdiv – Burgas
BULGARIA
Commercial Contact, subcontracted with the GCV group, has collaborated on the completion of the renewal of the Plovdiv-Burgas railway line which, with its 292 km of tracks, is part of the Corridor VIII of the Transeuropean Rail Network. The route connecting the capital Plovdiv with Burgas, second and fourth Bulgarian cities respectively, is of strategic importance for the country since Burgas is an important transport hub thanks to the thriving port on the Black Sea, the railway station and the airport . The renewal saw the demolition of the old crosspieces, the regulation of a long welded rail, the assembly of new deviators and Vossloh brackets on the curved sections and, last but not least, the aluminothermic welding of rails and exchanges.
