ILVA Taranto tracks renewal
TARANTO
Commercial Contact carried out a contract in collaboration with Ing De Aloe Costruzioni for the renewal of the railway track bays in the ILVA Taranto ironworks, which, with its 240 square kilometers, has an extension of about 3 times that of the city itself , and, besides being the third steel mill in the world, it is one of the most impressive industrial complexes in Europe. The renewal intervention required the demolition and replacement of existing spans, the removal of old exchanges, the construction and installation of new diverters and the construction of about 100 new exchanges per year. Since it could not in any way provide an interruption in the line, which would have compromised the productivity of the plant, all the new spans were built off-site and subsequently launched.
